8-Day Expedition to Mt. Kazbek (5,054 m)
This high-altitude expedition offers a rewarding alpine experience for adventurous hikers with strong physical conditioning. Starting with scenic trails in Kazbegi, you’ll progress through acclimatisation hikes before attempting to summit the breathtaking Mt. Kazbek (5,054 m). Every detail is handled—from transportation and lodging to the presence of an IFMGA-certified mountain guide.

Day 1: Arrival
Travel to Tbilisi. We’re happy to assist with flight bookings.
Day 2: Into the Caucasus
Transfer by car from Tbilisi to Gudauri
– Stop in the village of Mleta (1,480 m)
– First acclimatisation hike to Lomisi Monastery (2,200 m).
Overnight in Gudauri (Gudauri Hut Hotel).
Day 3: Summit Warm-Up: Mount Sadzele
Acclimatisation hike from Gudauri (2,000 m) to Mount Sadzele summit (3,307 m). Return to Gudauri.
Overnight in Gudauri (Gudauri Hut Hotel).
Day 4 – Entering the High Alpine
Drive to Gergeti Trinity Church (2,200 m), then begin the trek to Decca Hut (3,000 m), passing rugged ridgelines and glacial streams.
Overnight at Decca Hut.
Day 5 – Training Day at Altitude
Trek to Bethlemi Hut (3,665 m). Crampon and ice axe training to prepare for the summit.
Overnight at Bethlemi Hut.
Day 6 – Summit Day: Mount Kazbek (5,054 m)
Very early alpine start. Ascent of Mt. Kazbek via the classic glacier route, with breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. Return to hut.
Overnight at Bethlemi Hut or Decca Hut.
Day 7 – Descent & Celebration
Return trek to Trinity Church, followed by transfer to Stepantsminda. Optional overnight stay in the valley.
Overnight optional (not included).
Day 8 – Return to Tbilisi
Final private transfer back to the capital. End of expedition.
